Budget app glitched and charged me $87 in fees overnight
I was at a coffee shop in Austin checking my YNAB and saw $87 in overdraft fees from a transaction that posted twice. Called the bank, got them to reverse all of it, but now I don't trust either app anymore. Anyone else have a double charge mess up their whole monthly plan?

Feels like every app these days is just waiting to screw you over with some hidden glitch or fee? I swear, it's like companies build their software to work 90% of the time and just bank on the 10% where it fails and people don't catch it. Double charges and surprise fees are basically a tax on being too busy to triple check everything.

Is it really that bad though? @paulw53 I feel like most of these apps are pretty upfront about their fees if you actually read the terms, which nobody does lol. Yeah double charges happen sometimes, but it's usually a quick email to support and they refund it. I've been using all the major apps for years and can't remember the last time I got screwed over by something sneaky. People love to blame the software, but half the time it's just user error or not paying attention.

Not sure this is worth all the panic though. I have had stuff get flagged as fraud or charge twice maybe three times in ten years and every time the bank fixed it in like ten minutes on the phone. If you are checking your budget enough to notice $87 fees right when they hit, you are already ahead of 90% of users who would miss it for weeks. People act like one glitch means the whole system is rigged but software breaks sometimes, banks have procedures for that. The real tax is spending thirty minutes rage posting about it instead of just calling and moving on with your day.
