Found out my credit union refunds ATM fees, saved $18 last month
I was going through my statements and noticed a bunch of $2.50 and $3 charges from using out-of-network ATMs near my shop in Austin. Called my credit union to ask about it and turns out they have a program that gives you up to $25 back each month if you ask for it. I submitted the form for last month and got $18 back, took maybe 5 minutes. Anyone else got perks like this that their bank never bothers to tell you about?
That "if you ask for it" part is the kicker, they never volunteer this stuff. My bank does the same with foreign transaction fees, I found out from a Reddit thread and called in, got like $40 back from a trip last year. Now I just check their fee policy page every few months to see what else they're quietly doing.
