My $30 garage sale freezer just paid for itself in 5 weeks

I bought this beat up chest freezer off some guy in Akron for 30 bucks last spring. Thought it was gonna be a total lemon, figured I'd use it for a month then trash it. Man, I was wrong. I've been stocking up on meat whenever the local grocery runs their 50% off markdowns, and I bag my own veggies from the farmers market on Sunday mornings. Yesterday I added up what I've saved on groceries since getting it, came to about 145 bucks total. The kicker is the thing barely hums and keeps everything at a solid 10 degrees. My buddy keeps telling me to buy a new energy efficient model, but why bother when this old workhorse is doing the job. Anyone else had a random cheap find that surprised them like this?
