My $8 meal plan hack felt like a scam, now I'm a believer
I tried that bulk rice and beans thing from a Tampa food bank blog and figured it would taste like cardboard. Three weeks in, I've spent $22 total on dinners and actually look forward to the taco Tuesday version. Anyone else get surprised by a dirt cheap recipe that beats takeout?
Notice it everywhere once you start looking. That $2 taco joint with the plastic stools outshines the place charging $18 for avocado toast on a reclaimed wood board. Same with music, the bands that record in a buddy's basement on a busted tape deck hit harder than the overproduced stuff. Even tools, I got a cheap hammer years ago that's outlasted three fancy ones my brother bought. There's something about stuff that ain't trying to impress you, it just works, or it says what it means without all the polish covering up the cracks.
