My fridge died and I saved $300 by fixing it myself
My 10 year old fridge stopped cooling last Tuesday and a repair guy quoted me $450 just to look at it. Turns out it was just a dirty condenser coil and a $12 can of compressed air - anyone else been shocked by how easy some appliance fixes are?

just a dirty condenser coil" - thats the thing nobody talks about. Most people assume fridges are some complicated magic box when really its just dust and poor airflow 90% of the time. I did the same thing with my dryer last year and saved $200 on a "repair" that was literally just cleaning out lint.
