Shelled out $80 for a budgeting app, went back to a notebook in two weeks
I thought I needed some fancy app with automatic syncing and charts. Downloaded the trial, liked it, paid the $80 yearly fee. Turns out all it did was track what I already write down by hand. The real problem was my spending, not the tool. The app told me I spent $340 on coffee last quarter. I already knew that. What actually helped was putting cash in envelopes for groceries and eating out. No app did that for me. Anyone else pay for a tool just to realize the free version of your brain works fine?
