Just realized my worst week in months got fixed by one page in my journal
Last Tuesday I forgot my lunch, missed a 9am call with my boss Dana, and spilled coffee on my keyboard, all before noon. That night I dumped it all into my bujo as three angry bullets instead of my usual pretty weekly spread. Flipping back through it on Sunday, I saw the same two things eating my week every single day: no plan for mornings and no buffer time. Now I do a five line morning list the night before, and last week I only had one bad day. Does anyone else write messy dump pages first and clean them up later, or am I the only one doing it backwards?
Page 47 of my current notebook is literally just the words "everything is stupid" written four times with a date next to it, so no, you're not backwards. I've been doing messy dumps for about two years now and the cleanup almost never happens, which used to bug me until I figured out the dump was doing the actual work. Here's the thing my brain does with pretty spreads: I spend 20 minutes making it look nice and zero minutes finding the pattern, because pretty feels like progress. Ugly bullets don't feel like progress, so I actually read them later and catch stuff like your two morning problems. The layout was never the point. The coming back to it was.
