Deleted my mom's number and it worked better than therapy
Finally cut off my mom after she ruined my wedding shower last year. She called the caterer and changed the menu to things I'm allergic to. Blocked her everywhere, changed my locks, sent one last text saying I'm done. Six months of silence and I sleep better than I have in 20 years. Who else had to go completely no contact with a parent?

That takes a lot of strength to do, and I'm really glad it's helping you find peace. It's wild how much lighter life feels when you stop letting someone drain all your energy. Did you have people who understood your decision, or did you get pushback from family?

And @allen.quinn can back me up here, sometimes the people who should get it just don't, like when my aunt kept asking why I wouldn't just "talk it out" with someone who'd already made their choice.
