Shoutout to my sister for saying 'you call every time you need something but disappear when I need you'
She dropped that on me 8 months ago in her kitchen in Reno and I sat with it for a week before I finally cut off two friends who only hit me up when they wanted a ride or a loan. Has anyone else had a family member call out their own pattern of keeping one sided people around?
The "I sat with it for a week" part is the real story here. Most people hear something like that and get mad at the person who said it instead of looking in the mirror. When my brother said something close to that to me years ago, I did the same thing, sat on it, then started writing down who I actually called versus who called me. The list was ugly. My advice is don't cut everyone at once, cut the worst one first and see how much lighter your week feels. That tells you everything about what to do with the rest.
