I run a small shop and send out a monthly email to past customers, and a guy named Dennis replied to one in March with just "this reads like a form letter from my bank, do you even know who I am?" At first I was annoyed, but then I read the last 30 emails I sent out loud in my truck and it was brutal. Every single one opened the same way, used the same three words, and talked about us instead of them. So I rewrote the next one like I was texting a neighbor, threw in a real story about a job in Mesa, and got 4 replies in the first hour. Anyone else been called out like that and changed up their copy?
