Hit 40 newsletter signups from one Facebook post and I'm still not sure why
So I run a small landscaping business on the side here in Boise and back in March I posted a photo of a half finished patio with no caption, just the pic and my phone number. Woke up the next morning to 40 email signups through the little form on my site. I normally get maybe 2 or 3 a week and most of those are spam. I sat there staring at my phone wondering what the hell happened. The post itself wasn't special, no hashtags, no paid boost, nothing. Best I can figure is the local Facebook group it landed in had people who actually wanted that kind of work. That one post did more than two months of paid ads that cost me around $300. Now I'm second guessing everything I thought I knew about marketing. Has anyone else had a plain unedited post outperform their actual ad spend? I keep trying to copy it and every time it flops hard.
