Drywall dust found its way into my mitre saw brake in Tulsa

Was 20 feet from a homeowner's piano during a crown install in a cramped den, and when I hit the brake the saw just screamed for 3 seconds before grabbing, so now I'm asking if anyone else has had a saw brake fully fail from dust and what you did to clean it out without voiding the warranty?
