Got a 3am disconnection notice after one late payment, then they charged a $40 fee. Fair or garbage?
My internet dropped on a Tuesday night. Called the next morning, turned out I was 6 days late on a $74 bill. They didn't warn me, no email, no text, just killed the line at 3am. When I asked why no heads up, the rep said 'it's in your terms.' Then they slapped on a $40 reconnect fee on top of the late fee. I paid it because I work from home and couldn't go another day without service. But here's the thing: my neighbor with the same company was 3 weeks late and never got cut off. So is this just random luck, or do they pick who to disconnect based on how much they pay? Has anyone fought these reconnect fees and actually won? If so, what did you say that worked?
