Can we talk about the old way we used to check for door zone faults...

I used to just listen for the click and watch the light, but a call at the First National building downtown showed me that doesn't always catch it. The door zone on that 1998 Dover was just a hair out, and I only found it by putting a meter on the lock contacts and seeing the voltage drop. Now I always meter the lock circuit first, even if the light says it's fine. Anyone else run into a 'good' light on a bad lock?

My cousin swore the moon landing footage was filmed in Arizona, so I spent a weekend digging into the old NASA archives.

Turns out the 'desert' backdrop he mentioned matches a training site, not a soundstage. Anyone else have a family member who sent them down a rabbit hole like that?

Finally got that old boiler in the St. Louis brewery to pass inspection on the first try

We've been working on this monster for months, a real relic from the 70s. The owner was sweating the deadline because they have a big seasonal brew run starting next week. I spent two full days just on the low-water cutoff and safety valve calibrations, using my old U.S. Gauge tester. When the inspector fired it up and that pressure held steady at 150 psi without a single hiccup, he just nodded and stamped the paperwork. The relief on the owner's face was something else. He actually shook my hand and said, 'You just saved our summer.' It's not always about the big jobs, sometimes it's just making an old piece of equipment run right. Anyone else have a 'simple' maintenance job turn into a major win recently?

Honestly, I think the cash envelope method is way better than any budgeting app

Ngl, I tried YNAB for 6 months but still overspent. Switched to physical cash for groceries and fun money, and saved $200 last month because seeing the money leave my wallet actually hurt. Anyone else find apps just make it too easy to cheat?
