Found out my community college diploma came with a hidden transfer perk I never knew about
I was cleaning out a drawer in my apartment in Tulsa and found the folder from my 2019 graduation from Tulsa Community College. Tucked in the back was a paper saying my associate degree locked in guaranteed admission to 14 four year schools in Oklahoma if I kept a 2.5 GPA, and nobody ever mentioned it to me during advising. I only found out when I actually read the fine print on page 3 of the packet. Did anyone else get a perk like this buried in their diploma paperwork, or was my school just bad at telling people?
Honestly this sounds less like a hidden perk and more like normal state transfer rules that just weren't spelled out for you. A lot of states have agreements where an associate degree gets you into public four year schools if your GPA is decent, so it's probably not some secret bonus TCC was sitting on. The real lesson is that nobody reads page 3 of anything, so you can't really blame advising for not spoon feeding you paperwork you already had.
