Spectrum charged me $87.43 for a "self-install kit" I never used and then ghosted me for 11 days
So I moved into a new place in Columbus back in April and figured I'd just set up my own internet to save a buck. Ordered the self install kit online, never got it, called to cancel and the rep swore up and down there'd be no charge. Fast forward to my next bill and there's $87.43 for a kit I never touched, plus they backdated a $19.99 shipping fee. I called 6 times over 11 days and every single rep gave me a different story, one even told me the kit was "delivered to a neighbor" which is insane. I finally filed a complaint with the FCC and got a call from some executive response person within 48 hours who wiped the whole thing and gave me a $25 credit. My point is these companies only move when you hit them where it actually stings, not when you're nice on the phone. Has anyone else used that FCC complaint form and actually gotten real money back, or did I just get lucky?
