Saw the difference 6 months after switching to flat compression connectors

I put flat compression connectors on a 24-unit apartment building back in March and went back last week for a service call. The signal levels were way more stable compared to the old crimp connectors I used to use on every job. Anyone else notice a big difference after making the switch?

Honestly I've been using crimp connectors for like 15 years and I'm not convinced flat compression is all that. Last month I had a call where a homeowner's whole system went down because the flat compression connector on his main line backup wasn't seated right. Never had that specific issue with a crimp connector before. Plus those compression tools are expensive and bulky, while my old crimper fits in my pocket and works every time.

My truck has a box of them that cost me like 20 bucks, and I can swap one out in thirty seconds without hauling out a big tool. I've seen guys spend way too much money chasing the latest thing, and half the time the real fix was just a loose fitting or a bad splitter anyway. Your mileage may vary, but I'd rather put that extra cash into better cable or a nicer toner.

Don't you just hate chasing problems that end up being some tiny detail? I totally get it, I spent three hours on a job last week only to find a connector that looked fine but wasn't making contact. Sometimes the simple stuff really is the answer.
