Pro tip: the repair shop guy in Sacramento showed me how he organizes tiny screws, and it changed my bench setup
I was dropping off a parts body at a shop off Fulton Ave in Sacramento last week and the owner let me peek at his bench while he rang me up. He had a strip of magnetic tape stuck to a wood block with labels under each section, maybe 20 sections, one for each screw size and length. He said it cost him about $8 at a craft store and he has not lost a mount screw in 4 years. I went home and did the same with a paint stir stick and some tape, and I already stopped mixing up the 3mm and 4mm body screws on the Nikon I am working on. The tape holds them enough that they do not slide but a fingernail pops them off easy. Anyone else have a cheap bench hack like this, or do you all just use those fancy 24 compartment trays?
