The $60 camp pillow I laughed at is now the first thing in my pack
I used to roll up a hoodie and call it good for years, thought paying for a pillow was a scam. Then I spent four nights at Shenandoah last October and woke up with a crick in my neck every single morning. A buddy let me try his inflatable one, I figured I'd hate it but honestly slept better on night five than I do at home. I still think most ultralight gear is overpriced junk, but that pillow earned its spot. Anyone else cave on a piece of gear they swore was a gimmick?
