Paid $45 for a campus free speech rally ticket that got canceled 2 hours before start

Signed up for what looked like a big debate at UCLA about trigger warnings, but the organizers bailed last minute and nobody refunded us. Anyone else get burned by these pop-up protest events that vanish before they even happen?

Right, $45 to go stand in a field and listen to people yell into a megaphone. Paid that for a climate thing last fall and then they moved it to a Tuesday at 2pm. Not everyone can skip work for a rally, you know. Had to eat the cost because the refund policy was basically "sorry, not sorry." Definitely learned my lesson about prepaying for events that depend on "the people" showing up.

wait $45? for a rally? thats insane lol i would never pay that much just to stand around listening to people yell. and then they cancel with no refund? sounds like a total scam honestly. i get that people want to support causes but paying that kind of cash for something that might not even happen is risky. hope you at least got some kind of credit or something out of it.
