I rewatched a 2015 tweet thread get someone fired, then saw the same joke posted last month with zero backlash
A food writer named Dana lost her column at a Seattle paper in 2019 over a tweet from 4 years earlier. I went back and read the whole thread. It was a bad joke, sure, but it got 12 likes when she posted it. Someone dug it up after she wrote a piece about a chef, and she was gone in 3 days. Last month a bigger account made almost the same joke and got 40k likes with nobody mad. So what changed in 5 years? Is it the joke, or is it who decides which old post gets the shovel?
