Went to a vegan bakery in Portland and saw 4 canceled customers walk in
I sat at this little bakery off Division for about an hour last Tuesday. Four different people came in, all wearing shirts or tote bags from businesses that got torn apart online. One lady used to run a dog grooming place that got canceled over a bad review back in 2021. She told me she still gets recognized and people whisper. The weird part was the bakery itself, the owner got canceled for a rude Instagram comment 3 years ago. Everyone there was just living their lives, buying sourdough. Made me wonder if the "canceled" crowd is actually way bigger than we think, just quietly existing. Has anyone else noticed this pattern at specific spots in your city?
Funny how we only hear about the loud ones online. The quiet people just want their bread and to not be bothered, same as everyone else. Maybe the whole cancel thing is mostly a social media echo chamber and real life just doesn't care that much.
