Ate canned chili for 11 straight dinners in January 2020 and honestly miss how simple it was
My grocery budget was $23 a week back then and a can of chili over rice got me through, but now I spend $60 on groceries and still stand in the kitchen not knowing what to make, so what canned meal did you lean on when money was tight?
Something about a can of chili over rice just hits different when you're broke. I ate so much spaghetti with butter and parmesan from the green can that I still can't look at it without feeling like I'm 24 and checking my bank account before buying gas. At least chili has some protein, my go-to was just sad carbs on carbs. These days I'll spend $60 and still stare into the fridge like it owes me answers. Money being tight somehow made the decision for me, which was honestly the best part.
