Am I the only one who waited until my 30s to ask for a raise instead of just hoping?
I worked at the same shop in Bakersfield for 4 years without ever bringing up pay, figuring they'd notice on their own. My coworker Dana asked for a bump after 18 months and got $3 more an hour, while I was still sitting at the starting rate the whole time. I finally brought it up last month and walked out with $2.50 more after a 20 minute chat. Does anyone else have a job where you just assumed the raise would come to you, or is that just me?
