Just realized my resume was only listing tasks, not wins
For like 5 years I wrote resumes that just said what I did, like 'managed invoices' or 'answered emails.' Then a recruiter in Austin told me flat out, 'nobody cares what you did, they care what changed because you did it.' Last month I rewrote mine with numbers, like cut processing time by 20% or handled 150 tickets a week, and got 3 callbacks in 2 weeks. Anyone else make this switch late and wonder what interviews they lost before?

That recruiter in Austin hit the nail on the head. "Nobody cares what you did, they care what changed because you did it." That line stings because it's so true, and I feel for you thinking about all those lost interviews. I made the same mistake for years and rewrote mine during a job hunt panic last spring. It's wild how fast you see the difference once you add numbers or real outcomes, like 3 callbacks in 2 weeks is proof enough. But yeah, the what ifs on the old ones still bug me sometimes, you're not alone there.
