Crown molding inside corners got easier after I stopped cutting them at 45
Been doing trim work for about 10 years and always fought inside corners on crown. Caught myself holding the piece up, marking the ceiling line, and cutting blind. Last month on a job in Akron I tried coping both ends instead of mitering. Took me 45 extra minutes on the first corner but the fit was so tight I didn't need caulk. Second corner took half that time. Now I'm wondering if I should just ditch the miter saw for crown entirely. Anyone else made the switch to cope-only on inside corners and never looked back?
