Cut a 2x4 three times in one afternoon because my speed square kept slipping
At a deck build in Tacoma last month, I must have set that square on a wet beam and it slid mid-cut, wasted about 40 bucks of cedar. Swapped to a clip-on square and finished the whole frame without a single redo. Anyone else ditch the standard speed square for the clamped kind on wet jobs?

Honestly, I think you're overthinking it. A little slip just means you're working fast, and the standard square is lighter and easier to move around anyway. I've been on plenty of wet decks and never had a issue, just wipe it off and hold it tighter.
