My foreman swore by 2x4 blocks for leveling, now I think he was full of it
He told me to use scrap 2x4s under the joists instead of buying plastic shims, and after 4 months the floor sagged 3/8 inch in the kitchen corner. I re-did it with proper shims and it's dead level now, but he still insists the wood was fine. Anyone else get burned by a senior guy's shortcut that just plain failed?
