Had a job in Denver last week that went smoother than any I can remember
We were putting down 1200 square feet of a medium-grade plush carpet in a new build, and everything just clicked. The subfloor was perfectly flat, the seams matched up on the first try, and we finished by 2pm instead of the usual 5. I even got a text from the homeowner later saying how much they loved it. Has anyone else had a job that just felt too easy?

That job sounds like it went TOO easy, almost like the carpet gods were smiling on you.

Did you catch that article online about how some old carpet actually has a coating that repels stains better than new stuff? I swear I read somewhere that manufacturers in the 90s used a different chemical that kinda locked dirt out, but it wore off after like a decade. Might explain why that job felt so smooth, like the carpet was still holding onto its original protection. But yeah, usually old carpet fights back twice as hard, so you probably just got lucky with the batch.

My buddy Mark cleaned a house from the 90s once and said the living room carpet practically cleaned itself. He swears the old stain guard was so thick it felt like scrubbing a plastic table.
