Shoutout to the guy in Tulsa who showed me a power stretcher on a 12x15 berber, night and day difference
Ngl I used to think my knee kicker was all I needed for anything under 15 feet. Did a 12x15 berber in Tulsa with a guy who has been laying carpet since 1988 and he pulled out a power stretcher for the whole thing. I thought it was overkill but he let me feel the difference on the edges. The kicker left the middle a little loose, maybe half an inch of play if you pushed it. After he ran the power stretcher, that carpet was locked down tight, no ripple anywhere. Same room, same pad, same tack strip, just a different tool got it done right. Took us about 40 minutes instead of the 2 hours I would have burned fighting it. Anybody else finally switch to a power stretcher on small rooms or do you still roll with the kicker?
