Stuck with glue-down vs stretch-in last Tuesday. Chose wrong.
Had a big living room job in an old house. Owner wanted glue-down for the concrete slab. I pushed for stretch-in with a pad. Figured the floating floor would handle the uneven subfloor better. He went with glue. I spent 4 extra hours leveling that floor. Never again pushing against the owner's choice unless I walk. Any of you guys walk off jobs when the plan is bad?

Respectfully push back, but I think you handled it right. Walking off a job over material choice is a quick way to burn a bridge, and you still got paid for those extra hours. It's on the customer if they don't listen to good advice.

@keith_bennett nailed it. Lesson learned without losing a client is a win.

Ngl, that's wild to me that you'd put in extra hours for free just because they ignored your advice. Honestly, that would've been a hard no from me.
