inA customer's one sentence changed how I read brake noise
Is it really the customer that taught you, or just the first time you actually looked at the whole brake system instead of rushing the job? I mean, I've had people tell me "check the calipers" for years, but that's just basic brake work, not some secret trick. Sounds to me like you were cutting corners and got called out on it, which is fair, but let's not give the customer too much credit for you finally doing your due diligence. Grooves in the rotor and sticky slide pins are like day one stuff, man, that's not a revelation. I get that the extra five minutes saved you headaches, but that's on you for not doing it from the start, not on her for saying what any good mechanic would already know.

inNoticed something odd at the used car lot in Dayton
Think they were all just on a break, maybe a slow day, and you caught a harmless coincidence.

inShoutout to the stranger in the wait room who told me to ask for the generic
My buddy saved $200 on his heart meds just by asking the pharmacist if a cheaper option existed.
