inMy laptop charger died right before a final file handoff in a coffee shop
I gotta say, "countdown to doom" feels a little dramatic for a low battery, but I get the panic (sort of). It's just a laptop, not a ticking time bomb, and worst case you find an outlet in ten minutes. Still, I'm glad you didn't have to sit through that awkward coffee shop stare at a dead screen, I guess.

inThat $200 hidden camera detector I bought off TikTok was a total dud at picking up RF signals in my hotel room
I used to think these things were legit but your microwave story TOTALLY changed my mind.

inShoutout to the guy who told me to check the vent line on a Cessna 172 fuel sump
Ha! No kidding. @ross.lily I swear old timers have a sixth sense for this stuff. I once spent an hour chasing a rough running 150 only to find a dried up spider egg sac wedged in the vent line. Made me feel real smart when the guy who's been flying since the 70s just pointed at it and said "check the vent." Nature really does find a way to get into those tiny holes. Mud daubers are the worst though they love those warm spots.

inJust dropped $120 on a clipper that I should have tested first
Why would you want a cord when the whole point is convenience?

inMy buddy's 14 year old nephew told me my turntable setup was all wrong
Man that kid probably listens to more vinyl in a week than most of us do in a year with how all the info is online now lol. I got shown up by my buddy's 12 year old daughter on speaker placement once, she watched one video and pointed out my tweeters were at knee level. The best part is they don't have the ego to be embarrassed about correcting an adult, they just see a problem and fix it. Makes me wonder how much of our "wisdom" is just stubbornness from decades of doing it the same way.
