Everyone keeps saying digital money is safer but my card got cloned twice in 2023
People act like cash is obsolete because it can be lost or stolen, but they ignore how easy digital fraud is. I had my debit card cloned at a gas station in Cleveland back in March, then again at an ATM in July. Both times the bank reversed the charges, but it took weeks to get my money back each time. With cash, once it's gone it's gone, but at least nobody can drain your whole account from the other side of the world. Has anyone else had their digital wallet hacked or their info stolen and still think cash is the real risk?

Did you use a chip or swipe at those places? The chip is way harder to clone than the magnetic stripe. Still sucks about the wait though.

Chip every time. But the last time I used chip at a gas pump it took so long the guy behind me got out and asked if I needed help. Felt like everyone was staring at me while the machine did its little think.

Right? The awkward STARE while it "thinks" is the worst.
