Sat through a 3-hour expo with no pass system, lost 14 tickets
Saturday at the lakefront festival tent, our printer died and I had to memorize every ticket by hand while the line wrapped around the beer garden. I called out orders to two line cooks and still got a 15-top mixed up because I wrote 'medium rare' on the wrong slip. Anyone else ditch paper tickets for a tablet setup after a mess like this, or do you just trust the board?
Everywhere you look people are clinging to old ways just cause they're familiar, even when it makes the job way harder than it needs to be. Once you switch, you never look back, but breaking the habit is the real fight.
