Warning: that 'certified organic' seafood vendor at the Denver expo is lying

I bought 80 pounds of 'line-caught halibut' from a booth called OceanFresh last Thursday at the Denver Food Expo. Turned out it was farmed tilapia dyed to look like halibut, and the smell hit me the second I cracked the crate. My whole Friday fish special was a bust and I had to refund 3 tables. Has anyone else run into fake suppliers at these trade shows, and how do you vet them before dropping cash?
