My $1,900 studio in Chicago came with a surprise roach roommate count of 47
I moved here for a job in June and found a place in River North that seemed too good to be true. Turns out it was. The landlord didn't mention the building had a pest 'situation' until I saw a line of roaches marching out of the shared laundry room like they owned the place. I counted 47 in one night with a flashlight. I called the city health dept and they said the building had 14 violations in the last 3 years. Now I'm paying $1,900 a month to live above a bug buffet. Has anyone else pulled up the public records after signing a lease and felt sick to their stomach? Asking because I need to know if I should break the lease or just start naming these guys. lmao
