My roommate said my apartment made her feel trapped, and she wasn't wrong
She came over for coffee in my studio in Denver and after ten minutes said it felt like sitting inside a shoebox. I got mad, then I measured the place and it's 380 square feet, and she was right. I ended up moving my bed against the window to open up the middle and got a folding table instead of the big one. Now I'm still paying $1,650 for a shoebox, just a slightly better arranged one. Has anyone else had a friend call out their place and then realized they were spot on?
My buddy did the same thing to me about my old place in Capitol Hill, said it felt like a closet with a microwave. Took me a year to admit he was right, and by then I'd already signed another lease on a spot just as small.
