Community solar vs. rooftop panels, my 14 month experiment in Toledo

I put $4,200 into a rooftop setup while my neighbor paid $0 upfront for a community solar share. My panels produce more, but his subscription is locked at 8 cents per kWh and mine still has 9 years to pay off. Which should I push my parents toward when they ask about going green?
