Just realized I clamp way less than I did two years ago
I used to clamp everything twice before hitting cycle start on my little Shapeoko. Then about 18 months ago I started cutting MDF signs for a farmers market gig here in Boise, and tabs plus a decent downcut bit let me drop most of the extra clamps. Cut time on a 2x3 sign fell from around 40 minutes to under 25 once I quit stopping to reposition hold-downs. Now I only clamp hard when the stock is thin or warped. Curious if anyone else loosened up their workholding or if I'm just getting lucky with soft material.
