Showerthought: I read that over 60% of comic book readers are over 25 now
I saw this stat in a market report from ICv2 last week and it honestly blew my mind, I always pictured the average fan as a teenager. Does this mean most of us collecting now are just old guys holding onto our longboxes?

Feel that in my bones! I'm 31 and just bought the new Ultimate Spider-Man #1. My local shop is full of people my age or older, not kids. We grew up with these characters and have the jobs to afford the hobby now. Honestly, it's kind of nice having a community of fellow grown-ups who still get excited about Wednesday new releases.

It really does feel like our generation's time for the hobby.

Yeah, the "jobs to afford it" part is so true. I remember being a kid and just staring at the wall of comics I could never buy. Now I can actually walk in and grab a stack without sweating it. It makes the whole thing way more fun when you're not just dreaming about it. That adult money hits different for a hobby we've loved forever.

Watch a grown man in a nice coat carefully pick out a single issue and realize he's probably a lawyer. The real power move is buying the whole run of a new series without even checking the price. My inner twelve year old still can't believe we get to do this, but my back hurts from carrying all these long boxes so it evens out.
