Spent $180 on a custom umbilical float and it saved me a whole day of wrestling lines

Did you make the float yourself or buy it from someone? @price.ben I remember when I got a quick-release shackle for my main line. It cost me maybe forty five bucks and it felt stupid spending that much on a metal clip, but now I can drop anchor in like ten seconds flat instead of messing around with knots. Little things like that really do add up over a season.

Honestly that's a pretty good deal for a whole day saved. I did something similar with a weighted mooring setup and it cut my line wrestling time by like 90%.

Noticed this too over the years, @price.ben. It feels like the best gear improvements are the ones that just remove a small daily annoyance you got used to putting up with. Like with fishing line, or even just how you organize your car trunk. Once you fix that little thing, you wonder why you didn't do it years ago. It's the tiny friction points that eat up all your patience over time. Weird how we normalize stuff that's actually driving us crazy.
