Supervisor told me to skip the hot water test, glad I didn't

Boss in Port Fourchon said the hot water test on my new drysuit was optional to save time before a 6am dive last month. I ran it anyway and found a tiny leak right at the neck seal, which would've dumped cold water down my back 40 feet down. Anyone else ever get pushback on a pre-dive check that ended up saving your skin?
