Found a dead CMOS battery the hard way on a Gateway in Tulsa
Last Tuesday a customer dropped off a Gateway all-in-one that kept losing its clock and throwing a "CMOS checksum error" at boot. I chased drivers for an hour before testing the coin cell, which read 1.9V instead of 3V. Swapped in a fresh CR2032 and it booted clean the first time. How do you all catch clock drift before it turns into a full teardown?
