Spent $45 on a thermal camera attachment for my phone and it paid for itself in one call

Finally tracked a bad GPU overheating to a single VRAM chip I couldn't spot with my fingers. That one diagnostic saved me from replacing a whole board for a client. Has anyone else found phone add-ons that actually made you money on a job?

Respectfully, I think you got lucky. Thermal cams are cool gadgets but most of the time you can find hot spots with a good infrared thermometer for way less money. I've seen guys spend hundreds on add-ons then never actually use them on real jobs. Not saying yours isn't useful for your specific work, but for most techs that $45 could just sit in a drawer. The real money maker is knowing how to read a multimeter and schematics.

Used a similar camera and found a bad solder joint on a motherboard instantly.
