Thermal paste thickness debate at a shop in Denver got me second guessing everything
I watched two guys argue for 20 minutes about pea vs spread method on a 13900K and honestly the difference in temps was like 2 degrees, so is the whole technique thing just ego or does it actually matter outside of benchmark runs?
That 2 degree gap is basically noise, and honestly @bennett.harper is right, those guys probably needed a walk outside more than a paste tutorial. I mean, unless you're chasing last place in a benchmark leaderboard, who actually cares?
20 minutes over 2 whole degrees on a 13900K, that's wild. That's less than the temp swing you get from room drafts or your case fans ramping up. Honestly, if they were that heated over a pea sized dot, I'd be more worried about their stress levels than the CPU.
