Can we talk about that time a 3 inch slump saved me from a 6 hour redo
Had a pour go bad in Boise two weeks ago when I caught the batch truck adding water at the chute without checking the ticket first. The mix came in at a 5 inch slump and I watched him splash it up past 6 before I could holler, then spent two hours on the phone with the plant trying to figure out if we could still place it. We ended up dumping half the load and reordering, which cost me about 45 minutes of daylight plus $650 on the extra truck. Do any of you check the slump yourself before the driver touches that hose, or do you trust the ticket?
