Power trowel vs hand trowel for finishing a big slab...
I had to choose between renting a power trowel for a 500 square foot garage floor or doing it all by hand with my mag float. Went with the power trowel and it saved me hours but I felt like I lost some control on the edges. Anyone else wrestle with this call on a residential pour?

Power trowel all the way for the main pour but you gotta finish the edges by hand anyway, that's just the deal. Ran into the same thing on my last garage slab and ended up doing the perimeter with a hand float while the machine took care of the middle. Saves your back but you still put in work on the details.
