Vent: Spent $800 on a laser level and it barely lasted 2 jobs on a site outside Austin
Honestly thought I was doing the smart thing buying a nice green beam self-leveling unit. Worked great the first time on a drywall grid. Second job we had dust and a little bump. Now the calibration is shot. Tried to zero it myself and made it worse. My buddy swears by the $150 ones from the rental place. Anyone else have a pricey tool just crap out on them like this?
Bought a 2006 Ford F-150 for $4,000 three years ago. It had 150,000 miles on it and the guy was upfront about a rust spot near the wheel well. Still runs fine, just needs oil changes and the occasional belt. My buddy spent $45,000 on a new truck last year and it's been in the shop twice for computer issues already. New stuff has too many sensors and screens that break. I'll take a working beater over a lemon any day.
