My old boss said drop the heat on bleach toners, saved my client's hair yesterday
She told me 6 months ago that 20 volume with no heat processes slower but cuts brass way better, and after frying a client's ends with 30 volume last week I finally listened, has anyone else had a mentor's weird advice that actually fixed a repeat problem?

My old colorist swore by putting a little purple dye in her developer instead of toner, took me two ruined blondes to realize she meant a drop not a squeeze. Now I keep a tiny bottle of violet mixed in the fridge just for panic fixes, it's weird how the smallest tweaks save the biggest messes.
