That client who insisted on at-home toner ruined her hair color
I had a client come in last week who had used a drugstore toner at home the night before. She said her friend told her it would save money and look just as good. Her ends turned this weird greenish-brass color instead of the cool blond she wanted. It took me almost 2 hours and an extra $45 bond repair treatment to fix it. Has anyone else had to deal with fixing a DIY toner disaster?

Clients always think they can skip the pro step and save a few bucks. Ends up costing way more in the end, not just with hair but with everything in life. People don't realize professionals exist for a reason.

Man, tell me about it. I once tried to save money by trimming my own bangs before a wedding and looked like I lost a fight with a pair of safety scissors. My barber still brings it up three years later, the guy has a great memory for disasters. You'd think I'd learn, but nope, next time I'll see a coupon and think 'how hard can it be?' Spoiler: pretty hard. At least with hair you can grow it out or throw on a hat, but some things you really can't fix that easy.
